9: Nude Patent Cork Platform Sandals
Before I start this post I have
to say this: New Look has always been in my top three retailers, but now
they’re an absolute favourite as they now do a petite range, hooray 5’ 3” and
unders!
Soft and chalky pastel tones are back to be embraced this season with many thanks to Miu Miu and Lanvin’s SS13 runway shows setting the trend, it was only normal that New Look, a trendy high street retailer be the first to sport a vast range of styles to choose from.
All the items in this outfit can
be found in New Look stores or their eCommerce site; they’re stocking some
great icy tones and pastel pallets which celebrate this wonderfully pleasant
trend. Nude tones are also a comeback and due to their neutral tone they can be
paired with many outfits. People often opt for dark or black shoes as they
usually go with any item worn, however nude tones are less harsh and are a
versatile add on for your outfit. This look has a slight grunge feel due to the
use of denim and statement jewellery, I think I’m pretty well known for doing
this is and it’s purely personal taste however you can still opt for the same
colours in other lighter fabrics such as laces, tulles and chiffons, or perhaps
use pearls and simple gold pendants for subtle glamour. What’s excellent about
New Look is that they always have a stunning variety of denim jackets that fit
wonderfully on the body and are incredibly versatile for any wardrobe. The
brand is also renowned for its excellent selection of shoes in many different
heights and styles; here I have selected a mid-heel nude shoe to tone down the floral
print on the tapestry skirt. They can be worn with or without the light crochet
tights; personally I think they’re useful for the slightly chillier days but
it’s completely optional. The bag is simple with minimum texture which brings
immediate focus to the beautifully printed yet neutral skirt, also note that
you shouldn't be afraid to mix in some patterns and prints, pastels are all
about colour and having fun with layering so long as the hues are soft.
Not keen on the skirt? Don’t
forget to take a look at their wonderful cream
dresses that will complement the outfit above beautifully.
