Pure London 2013

Hey folks! This post is fairly late but I've finally got round to writing it up. I mentioned in my last post that we'd be off to the Pure London Exhibition at the London Olympia as part of our research for our current project. It really gave us a feel of what it was like being a new start up fashion company trying to promote yourself to potential customers, buyers and stockists. It was a great chance to network with the designers and sales directors to find out more about the brands exhibiting, some of them even informed us of future internship opportunities which was wonderful. Overall it was a fantastic day and I gained a lot of contacts and inspiration for my project, as well as a massive bag full of business cards, leaflets and catalogs which nearly broke my arm! Some of the businesses wouldn't give us their business cards because we weren't buyers...which was ridiculous because we're the buyers of the future! However when we told some of the company's that we were London College of Fashion students they let us take photos and gave us business cards and the lot...times like that makes me feel very fortunate to attend the establishment!

Here are some photos I took at the show The stands we came across were so well put together and full of creativity, unfortunately most of the brands wouldn't allow us to take photos but I still managed to get some snaps:

Kat Von D!

The wires in the blouse were malleable, If I wore this I'd be too distracted bending it around all the time! But no seriously I love this.

Delicate colour palettes suggesting the comeback of pastel trends.

The back of this dress is beautiful and so creatively put together.

Pretty mannequin..I snapped this on impulse by accident (as you do) and the lady at the stand was pretty pissed..but I told her how awesome it looked and that I was an LCF student and she calmed down :')

The place was huge, downstairs had all the clothing brands and upstairs were milliners, shoe designers and fashion jewellery and accessories.

Our bags, filled with lots and lots of contacts.

Did any of you get to go to Pure, and what did you think?

x
